I started yoga classes as a new way to work out. The physical practice of Vinyasa, the grace and fluidity, was appealing to me as a dancer. As I started falling in love with the practice, so much more came from it. I lost the desire to compete with the person next to me and began to focus inward. What did I need, at that very moment, to nurture my body and ease my mind. After my first teacher training, I came home with even more knowledge of the physical practice and more importantly, the realization that how I work on my mat reflects my life off my mat.
Not too long after, I discovered Buti Yoga. Once again, the physical practice intrigued me. Adding primal movement and plyometrics to an already challenging Vinyasa practice looked incredible! I immediately knew I needed to dive deeper. And wow, I went deep! As Butisattvas say, “Buti Yoga is my soulmate workout.” This is it. This is what my body and soul needs. Looking beyond the physicality of Buti, I was met with love, compassion, confidence and motivation from every Butisattva I met (even some I haven’t!). The energetic practice began changing me from the inside out without even knowing it. This is how Raw Renewal came about.
Hi there! My name is LauRen, and I am a Sculpt, HotCore, and Buti Yoga instructor at Raw Renewal Yoga. I am a life long dancer, singer, actress, and overall goofball. Cross-training was a necessity for my body and career, but it sometimes felt like a chore. That is, until I experienced Buti Yoga. The combination of tribal dance, Vinyasa flow, body sculpting, and pulsating music fuels me to push my body to it’s limit. I am able to stop thinking, let go of all personal judgement, and experience the community around me. Buti bliss is a real thing, and I look forward to sharing it with you! My classes are energetic, motivating, and sweaty, focusing on proper alignment and muscle engagement. My goal is for you to embrace your inner confidence and trust your body. When I am not at RRY or teaching dance, I love to cook, eat, travel, binge watch TV shows I have already seen, and hug all the animals.
Hi I’m Mandy! I’m from Buffalo, NY and couldn’t see myself living anywhere else! I grew up dancing and turned my passion into a career after graduating from the State University of New York Fredonia with a BFA in Dance and a BA in Communication.
As certified Pilates and Barre Instructor, Buti Yoga completely takes me out of my comfort zone. I am the definition of Type A and Buti does not let me live that way. I’m slowly learning to love the unknown! Listening to my body, the universe and the energy of my students to lead a safe, fun, and feel good class is exactly what I never knew I needed! My life is planned to a ‘T’ but I love the movement that Buti allows me to find and create!
In addition to teaching classes at Raw Renewal Yoga, you can find me at Barre Centric or passing on my sassiness to the next generation at Royal Academy of Ballet and Dance. I thrive on bringing my passion for fitness, dance, Pilates, and Buti into every single class I teach. As a freelance dancer, I enjoy performing in various festivals, shows, and gigs in the Buffalo community.
When I’m not teaching all the classes, I thoroughly enjoy my down time by binge watching reality TV (#BachelorNation) next to a huge pile of nachos! (Deep South Preferred! Uber Eats is life) But I do love being outside in and sun searching for the best patios in Buffalo!
Yoga found me later in life. Searching for a physical practice but needing that “something else” I could not identify, yoga became the solution. The Sutras, the precision of alignment, meditation, and the teachings of a balanced body, mind and soul have made me fall in love with the philosophy and practices.
In July of 2016 I traveled to Costa Rica to obtain my 200 hr Teacher Certification in Hatha . Building on a strong and proper foundation, I learned basic principles, essential elements and inner awareness to grow my understanding and to embody what I teach. After completing this incredible experience I began to teach a variety of classes including Traditional Hatha, New to Yoga Introductory sessions, Yinyasa Flow, Integrated Yoga Weight Training, Couples Yoga, and much more.
During this time I had also found the joy in yoga trapeze. In July of 2017, I traveled to Barcelona to obtain my Teacher Training in Trapeze Yoga by the reowned Lucas Rockwood. An intense physical training, these sessions presented me with the the opportunity to bring a unique form of practice into my repertoire.
Yoga meets you where you are. You will find that my classes focus on what you need – whether that means an alignment adjustment, an encouragement to take the next step, an intense release, or simply a space to be.
When not in the yoga studio, I work at a capital equity firm and spend time with my amazing husband, our wanderlust son, and an adorable Australian Shepherd.
Hello! I am Amy. I am a recently certified Buti Yoga instructor. Why do I love Buti? Simple… classes are fun, full of positive vibes, and kick-ass energy and music.
I am driven by the strong belief that health requires balance of the mind and body. Social worker by day, (Buti) yogi by night. The use of mindfulness in my daily practice allows for a more relaxed, healthier state of mind. Buti does just that, but for the mind AND body, so the transition is seamless for me. I strive to motivate others to achieve their goals both on and off the mat.
Gymnastics was my first love. As a former gymnast I am constantly seeking deep core engagement and movement that challenges the body in ways that other workouts cannot. As a coach, I have always encouraged a healthy balance between hard work and fun. I have exercised my way through boot camps, circuits, and conditioning classes and I can honestly say nothing incorporates all of those aspects like Buti Yoga.
Outside of work and Yoga, I enjoy down time with my family, friends, and fur babies! I am a pro concert goer and enjoy everything from jazz to country to hip-hop/rap. I am queen of the selfie and you better believe a photo opp is happening if we are hanging out!
My goal is to bring you a fun, high energy workout to stretch and engage muscles you never even knew you had! So come get your burn on and sweat it out with me!
Strong ((mind, body, and soul)) is always beautiful.
